Our new kneeboard features a unique modular design that works perfectly for the changing requirements and cramped cockpits of military aircraft. Also a very popular design for anyone working for periods of time in a seated position (Drone Operator, Crew Commander in an armoured vehicle, etc...). Check out the images below for examples of the various configurations of the individual components.
The system is centered on a rugged, yet lightweight, low profile kneeboard with Loop Fastener side flaps that will hold the various accessories we've design to suit your needs. The interchangeable design works perfectly on either leg, for right-handed or left-handed individuals. The design features a Tablet/iPad flap on top, which can be completely detached from the kneeboard if not using a tablet. Holds a mini iPad perfectly.
Inside is a removable mini clipboard, situated behind the clear Acrylic Plastic window. The acrylic window works perfectly for viewing commonly used frequencies, SOPs, Personal notes etc. and allows for the mounting of a dry-erase writing surface (optional). A grease pencil will wipe right off. One of the major benefits of this acrylic window is that you can write directly on it with a permanent marker and it will not absorb into the surface. Notes can be 100% removed using a cloth and rubbing alcohol. We also sell a mini alcohol spray bottle with Loop Fastener, available separately, great for storing a small amount of rubbing alcohol for cleaning the acrylic window.
Flip the kneeboard over and on the underside are two foam pads, which allows the kneeboard to rest comfortably on your leg and allow air circulation. The pads can be removed if desired. In between the two pads is a small built-in elasticized pocket, which we have included here for storage of the Kneeboard Cover, when not in use.
The kneeboard attaches around your leg with one large 4" Elastic strap and Hook & Loop Fastener closure. Super adjustable, to a multitude of different leg shapes and sizes. At the top of the kneeboard is a Hook & Loop Fastener strap that attaches to your belt. This strap allows the user to adjust the height of the kneeboard up and down, depending on where you'd like to wear it - higher up or lower down the thigh. Having both horizontal and vertical adjustments points keeps the kneeboard securely fastened to your leg, keeping it nice and snug against your thigh to minimize any shaking while you are in motion.
The kneeboard itself is available in black only. We have made a weatherproof Kneeboard Cover to fit over top (see below).

The Pilots Modular Kneeboard can absolutely be used as a stand alone kneeboard for tablet use. However, we have designed the following Hook & Loop Fastener Accessories to really amplify the overall functionality.
Map Sleeve for Kneeboard: Holds a map or paper that is 8" long by 7" tall. Since it attaches with Hook & Loop, it could also be used directly on your tactical gear, or really anywhere there is Loop Fastener available (on our Tactical Notebook Covers for example).
Weatherproof Kneeboard Cover: Has a 3x5" Loop Fastener area that can be used to place a patch or small nametape. Fits overtop of the Kneeboard - available in coyote brown, Canadian Digital Camo, or black.
Wind-strap for Pubs: Holds paper in place during aerobatic manoeuvres or doors-off missions. We call this a Wind-strap but it essentially acts as a strap that goes overtop of your pubs to hold everything in place. Clear vinyl, with Hook Fastener on both ends.
Flexi-Ring Attachment for Kneeboard: Measures 7.75" x 2" in size. Comes with three cable rings. These super strong rings are great in wet, cold and dirty conditions and can easily be replaced if lost. They provide flexibility, making it much easier to store and use in a cramped cockpit than a conventional firm binder with rigid rings.
x10 Vinyl Page Envelopes: These Vinyl envelopes allow you to keep your SOP's, maps, checklists extremely organized and at the ready. Vinyl envelopes hold 4.25in. x 8in. paper. Works nicely to keep you pubs clean and dry.
In addition to the Accessories above, our line of Detachable Hook Fastener Accessories (originally designed to work on our modular Tactical Notebook Covers) has several items that works really nicely on the Kneeboard, like our Mini Whiteboard.
